The Waghera Uprising took place in the Baroda region in 1818 against British rule. Besides the resentment against the alien regime, the exactions of Gaekwad of Baroda supported by the British Government compelled the Waghera Chiefs of Okha Mandal to take up arms. During 1818-19, the Waghera carried out inroads into British territory. The uprising ended with a peace treaty, signed in November 1820.
